Denver [DEN]

Nursing Mother’s Room

  • Location:

    • Nursing Rooms in main rotunda when you get off of trains in each concourse. There isn’t typically much in terms of options as you get to the regional jet areas (high or very low numbered gates, the train lets you off right in the middle and you can go either direction)

    • There are also brand new nursing rooms in the renovated area of B gate by the brand new bathrooms, very clean and, while basic, they have a frosted view of the runway so you have something to look at while in there if you want.

  • Access: An indicator on the door shows if it is vacant or in-use, be sure to lock the door once you are in if you don’t want others to enter.

  • Set-up: No matter which concourse you are in, there’s an option. Now, I’ve found it’s about 50/50 if it’s available right away or not.  There are two concourses that have fairly small spaces, really just for one family.  There is a sink, changing station and couch or chair in each though.  The one on B concourse is larger and has a couch, chair and kids play horse if you have another little to entertain.  The door handle is a swing-down though, so plan to have something to block the door if you have a toddler who thinks opening doors is a fun game.  I’ve been in this one with 2-3 other women who were pumping/nursing on multiple occasions, it’s not bad as there’s plenty of space and all mama’s need a better option than the concourse.  The new locations on B concourse have a diaper pail, changing table and sink as well.

  • Other: Across the concourse on the other side is typically is a family restroom to change/have multiple kiddos go potty if needed.

§  Meals with Kids

  • Location: There’s a big food court in concourse B upstairs.

  • Access: Take the elevators that you used from the train or the escalator in the middle of the concourse to go up one level.

  • Set-up: You’ll never notice if you don’t look up but there is a Shake Shack, Snooze, and several other restaurants with lots of seats, restrooms and water fountains to pass the time if you have a long layover. There is plenty of seating and you can pull tables together. This has been helpful when we can’t agree on what to eat or want to spread out a bit.
