Detroit [DTW]
Nursing Mothers Room:
Location:Located in each concourse but the concourses are very large so plan accordingly as there was only one on Concourse A. I didn’t find it walking around but used a map to locate it. Some are on the lower level of that concourse so it’s quite a haul. Stated locations on website are near: Gates A15, A25, A53, A63, C2 but I did not find this consistent with the map. There is also one in the Southwest terminal (D15) that is next to the Dasani Hydra Play Gate. This was newish, very basic with a sink, counter and chair and a place to change baby.
Access: You need to call security to be buzzed in, they will ask if the indicator shows the space is available.
Kids Play Area:
Locations:
Concourse D:The Dasani Hydra Play Gate is a small room with a relaxing fish scape, a dark space, some benches and in interactive map kids can play with.
Concourse A: Located at the VERY end of concourse A it was completely out of the way and no one was around. It felt a bit like they received a donation of play houses for the sponsor and had to put them somewhere. If you have little kiddos, it would be a fun way to kill time and they can watch planes landing out the window. There were also sensory tables that could entertain the little ones. I’d bring wipes, it was clean but not sure how often it’s actually disinfected.
